Lately I have been in a serious cooking/recipe rut, hence my lack of posts. After a long day at work the last thing I want to do is come home and think of what to make for dinner and than stand in the kitchen for what seems like an eternity chopping, stirring, tasting and cleaning. I really love to cook, but lately I just feel exhausted and not very creative. Which is ok, sometimes it does happen, and sometimes you just need to change things up a bit.
The idea for a recipe binder has always been on the back burner in my mind. But I felt that this was the appropriate time to get it started. This is how it works, I have ALOT of Rachael Ray magazines, my problem though is that I see a recipe I want to make and fold the page or put a sticky note on it, but than I completely forget about it and I never end up making any of the recipes that I bookmarked. So I bought a really cute binder (because that’s very important you know). I filled it up with clear binder sleeves and started flipping through my magazines ripping out any recipes that caught my eye, and writing on the pages substitutions to make the recipe paleo.
So far my recipe binder has been rather handy. I have already made 4 recipes, And all the meals I have made were quick to prepare, and that makes me a happy camper.
What do you do with your old cooking magazines? Do you toss them out? Or do you make some of the recipes in them?
