WHOLE30 DAY 5

These past few days I haven’t had any cravings, and I have been very satisfied with all the food I have eaten. Except for today.... I don’t know what it was, maybe it was those dang raisins I put in my salad yesterday, but all day today all I really wanted was junk food. I kept walking by the vending machine at work and the dang bag of Fritos looked so amazing. I eventually ate lunch and got over it. But still, it was very difficult. 

I blame myself because this morning I woke up unsure of what I wanted to eat for breakfast or lunch, and to top it off I didn’t bring enough snacks with me to work and I was hungry, and my mind began to wander and think of unhealthy things. Regardless I made it through! Haha. What lesson did we learn? Pack all your snacks and meals the night before, it makes a difference.

DAY 5


Breakfast

•   1 boiled egg

•   Banana

•   Handful of raw mixed nuts


Lunch

•   Leftover Mexican chicken

•   Spinach salad

•   Pear

Dinner

•   Spicy tuna cakes (nomnompaleo recipe)

•   Spinach, and kale sautéed in chicken fat with garlic and chicken broth.

•   Sweet potato fries

Snacks

•   A spoonful of coconut butter

•   Watermelon

When I went to make the tuna cakes, I realized only after I had thrown EVERYTHING together that I didnt' have any eggs... so I just threw a flax egg in as a replacement. It didn't really work, so the tuna cakes turned out kind of mushy. But when your hungry anything works.

Don't you hate it when you think you have all the ingredients for a recipe, and than you come to find out your missing 1 very important ingredient? That always seems to happen to me, and it always seems to be that my missing ingredient is always 1 egg!
